There is something very powerful about watching a movie based on a true story, right? At least that’s what I feel like! Reality is often more mind boggling, inspiring and let's just pretend I put some more serene and hard to come by words here, lol; my point being that movies based on true stories prove all of it. After all, the only thing that makes a crazy plot point or character even more unbelievable is knowing you could find and them meet in your everyday life. Someday, somewhere you would’ve crossed paths with some real-life version of the people you come across in movies. Or you could just think how cool it would be to be friends with one of these people from the comfort of your couch- haha, that works too!

Some stories get even better once you know they’re true. For example, my mom couldn’t stand to watch The Wolf of Wall Street until she knew it was a real story–and then she was just absolutely shocked. When you know a movie was inspired by true events, it becomes even more relevant and compelling.

Which is why, you need to check out these 10 movies based on true stories that will make you laugh, cry and even go WTF!

P. S: The movies are not ranked in order of their rating and a click on the movie posters will redirect you to its trailer!
